Antonio de Padua

Antonio de Padua is a Brazilian religious music group formed by Franciscan friars. Their 1984 debut album 'Teologia da Libertação' gave the band its name and established their approach, which draws from liberation theology and the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi. The members include Antonio de Padua on lead vocals and guitar, with Frei Gilson, Frei Rubem, and Frei Florentino rounding out the lineup.

Their songs often address social justice and spirituality, set to a mix of traditional Brazilian rhythms and contemporary rock. Tracks like 'Ide e Anunciai' and 'A Branca Flor' reflect this blend, with lyrics that speak to human dignity and faith in plain terms.
