Ants formed in London in the early 1980s. Their debut single "Anywhere With You" came out in 1984 and helped move them from the underground scene to wider attention. The band's lineup has stayed fairly consistent with John Adamson on vocals and guitar, Adam Morris on bass, and Dave Robinson on drums.
They put out a few albums in the 1980s like "The Sound of Silence" in 1985 and "New Horizons" in 1987. Their sound shifted over time, picking up bits of folk and electronic music along the way. Another track, "Pretty," shows up in their catalog.
At one point there was some talk about subliminal messages in their music, which they denied. It was a distraction for a while.
