A.O.R. formed in 1983 with Anthony Oncidi on vocals, Danny Watson on guitar, Mike McCready on bass, and Steve Johnson on drums. Their debut album 'Out of the Blue' came out in 1985, and the single 'I Owe It To Myself' got some radio play. They put out a few more records like 'Beyond the Boundaries' in 1987 and 'The Edge of the World' in 1989 before breaking up in 1993.
Their songs had a straightforward rock feel with clear melodies. Tracks like 'You're My Obsession' and 'A Heartbeat Away' were typical of their style, guitar-driven with Oncidi's vocals up front. They weren't trying to reinvent anything, just writing solid rock tunes that fit on album-oriented radio stations.
The original lineup got back together for some shows in 2010. People who remembered their music from the '80s showed up, and the band played their old material. It was one of those reunion tours that works because the songs still sound pretty much the same as they did back then.
