Apathetiq

Apathetiq formed in Los Angeles in the early 2010s around vocalist and guitarist Jayden Pierce, bassist Ethan Reed, and drummer Oliver Hayes. Their debut single "Waiting For You" came out in 2015 and found an audience with its straightforward take on unrequited love. The song became a radio staple that year.

They followed with albums like "In Limbo" and "Aether," which leaned into more atmospheric territory while keeping their pop-rock foundation. Other tracks like "Down" and "So Alone" continued in a similar vein of moody, guitar-driven songs about isolation and relationships.

In 2017, Pierce was arrested for drug possession, an incident that briefly overshadowed the band's work. They kept recording and touring afterward, with their songwriting drawing loosely from personal experiences and literary influences like Sylvia Plath and Edgar Allan Poe.

Their music operates in that space between alternative rock and mainstream pop, built on Pierce's vocals, Reed's basslines, and Hayes' drumming. It's the kind of sound that found a consistent audience without needing to reinvent anything.
