Ape Fight came out of London's underground scene in the early 2000s. The band had Simon Arkell on vocals and guitar, Jamie Bowden on bass, and Will Fisher on drums. Their first album, also called 'Ape Fight', came out in 2004.
That album had a song called 'You Think We Suck' that got some attention. They also had songs with titles like 'Big Jerk (Tina's Song)' and 'I Wish I Was Your Bike Seat (Danielle's Song)'. They put out a couple more records after that, including 'The Art of Insubordination' and 'This Is Not a Test'.
In 2006, the band was arrested after a show in Blackpool. The police said they had incited a riot. Their music had a confrontational edge, and their live shows could get pretty rowdy.
