Archive material and source history

Apeles was a Portuguese band that released their debut EP 'Tudo Que Te Move' in 2005, followed by their first full-length album 'A Vida É Bela' the next year. They put out four more albums through 2015, including 'Bendita Loucura' in 2008 and 'Segue o Teu Sonho' in 2011. Their song 'Clérigo' featured Helio Flanders.

Ricardo Riquier sang lead vocals, Rita Redshoes played guitar and co-wrote material, Manuel Rocha was on bass, and Miguel Fonseca drummed. Their stage shows were energetic and sometimes drew mixed reactions for being provocative.

Some of their lyrics addressed social themes, and a track called 'Falar Verdade' was noted for criticizing government hypocrisy. The band stopped working together sometime after their 2015 album 'O Que Eu Quero Dizer'.
