Later on by the fireside

We try to run, but we cant hide

From the fickle flames and matchstick games

That threaten our arid lives.

Im starting a new with a strange sing-along;

A contemptuous song

Intended to dumbfound you.

Because im different than most;

Fallible and morose,

And it is time i let my imperfection shine though

Im flammable and so are you

Still, later on by the fireside

We try to run, we try to hide,

But one fickle flame, docile and tame, my dear

Is all it takes to make us disappear

I got dressed in my skin

To face the machine again

And tell him that, i am human,

Though a bit avant-garde

I embrace my distinction.
