Applejaxx formed in 2015 with Jake Grass on vocals, Matt Irish on guitar, and Danny White on drums. They put out their debut EP 'Chasing the Sun' in 2017. The band's sound pulls from pop, hip-hop, and R&B, heard on tracks like 'App For That Ft. Trini' and 'Fear Factor (ft. Mr. Coldstone)'.
Matt Irish left the group in 2018, but Grass and White kept going. They brought in guitarist Drew Fox the following year. Their song 'App for That' drew some criticism for how it handled mental health topics, which led the band to donate some proceeds to related charities.
They've released a few more projects since, including the albums 'Fearless' in 2019 and 'Rise' in 2021. Other collaborators on their songs have included Ashleigh Nickole and Mr. Coldstone.
