April Kiss

April Kiss was an all-female band that formed in London in the late 1960s. The group included Janie LaBelle on vocals, Barbara Dickson on guitar and vocals, Lesley Duncan on bass, and Maggie Bell on drums. They worked in a music industry that wasn't particularly welcoming to women's bands at the time.

In 1971 they released their debut album, which featured the song "Hello Bus." That track became their most recognizable work, a straightforward folk-rock piece with a memorable melody that found an audience. The band toured fairly extensively in the early 1970s.

Their performances sometimes drew attention for being more direct than what was expected from women musicians at the time. They kept playing through the mid-1970s before eventually disbanding.
