Ardilla Prasasti Soepangat was born in Jakarta in 1969. She released her debut album 'Sandungan Cinta' in 1987, and her second album 'Marihuana' in 1990 made her a household name in Indonesia.
Her band included guitarist Andy Ayunir, bassist Rudy Gagola, and drummer Harry Ponto. Beyond 'Marihuana,' she recorded songs like 'Diga Usted,' 'Enculebrao,' and 'Una Pistola' that showed her direct lyrical approach. She released eight studio albums between 1987 and 1995.
Ardilla died in a car accident in 1995 at age 26. Her music, particularly the straightforward style heard on tracks like 'La Rima' and 'No, No, No,' continues to be heard in Indonesia years later.
