Area77

Area77 formed in São Paulo with Hugo Rafael on vocals, Alexandre Malheiros on bass, and Ricardo Rebello on guitar. Their sound drew from classic rock influences, though they filtered those through their own lens rather than replicating them directly.

Their debut album in 1992 included 'Aparência do Mal,' a track that gained attention for its atmospheric quality and became something of a signature for the band. They followed it with 'Vol. II' in 1996 and 'Semente' in 2003, each showing different sides of their approach without settling into a single formula.

Some critics found their lyrics and style too dark or experimental, but the band kept working on their own terms. They never became a mainstream fixture, but songs like 'Lugar Secreto' and their earlier material maintained a following among listeners who appreciated their particular blend of rock textures and mood.
