Arke formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1980s with James Anderson on vocals and guitar, David Alvarez on guitar, Michael Fulop on bass, and Mark Sloas on drums. They released their second album, "The Fourth World," in 1992, which included the song "November Rain." That track became their most recognizable work, known for its length and the music video directed by Alvarez.
Anderson left the band in 1991, and Alvarez took over lead vocals. The group continued with albums like "The Promise" in 1994 and "Destiny" in 1996. Their catalog also includes songs such as "Forever" and "Longing."
After Fulop's departure in 1997, Rick Sayre joined on bass. The lineup of Alvarez, Sayre, and Sloas has been the most stable configuration in recent years.
