Arko

Arko is a Mumbai-based musical project centered around songwriter Arko Pravo Mukherjee and guitarist Mukul Deora. Their work draws from Indian classical traditions, Sufi poetry, and Western pop, though they tend to avoid calling it a fusion. Their first album came out in 2016, simply titled 'Arko'.

That debut included 'Nazm Nazm,' a song that found an audience and became something of a calling card for them. It's a quiet, melodic track that doesn't try too hard to announce itself.

In 2017, there were some questions about originality regarding another song from that first album, 'Teri Yaadon Mein.' The group maintained the work was their own. They've released a couple more albums since, continuing to work in a similar, understated vein.
