Arkuum was the electronic project of Andreas Rothenhäusler and Michael Weishaupt. They worked together from around 2005 to 2009, putting out a series of albums that had a spacey, atmospheric quality to them. Their track "Ferne Welten" from 2005 is the one people tend to remember.
Their music wasn't exactly ambient and wasn't exactly techno either, but sat somewhere in between with a cosmic feel. They released albums like Windgott in 2006, Mondlicht in 2007, Sternenträume in 2008, and Sternenfeuer in 2009. Each one continued with that same expansive, otherworldly sound they'd established early on.
They kept a fairly low profile as a duo, and the project seems to have wrapped up after that 2009 release. What's left are those five albums and a handful of tracks like "Ferne Welten" that still get played in certain electronic circles.
