Arlindo e Wenceslau

Arlindo do Nascimento and Wenceslau de Sousa started playing together in Luanda in the late 1990s. They put out their first album in 2005, calling it 'Grande Amor' after the song that would become their biggest hit. That track, 'Grande Amor,' caught on quickly in Angola and spread to other parts of Africa, often played at weddings and parties.

A couple of years later, in 2007, they got tangled up in a plagiarism claim over the melody of 'Grande Amor,' which they eventually sorted out legally. They kept recording after that, with albums like 'Contigo' and 'Meu Amor' coming out in the late 2000s. Arlindo handled most of the singing and guitar work.
