Armando Fernal

Armando Fernal was born in Salvador, Bahia in 1946. He grew up hearing samba and bossa nova, and those rhythms stayed with him when he started writing songs.

In the 1970s, he had a breakout hit with "Cara, Eu Te Amo Mas Eu Vou Deitar." The song's direct language about relationships caught attention and became popular, though some critics found it too blunt. Other songs like "Do Lado de Lá" and "Impossível" followed.

Fernal kept recording through the years, working as a singer and songwriter. The straightforward quality in his writing, heard in tracks like "Venha Como Eu Vim," became a recognizable part of his music.
