Army of The Pharaohs

Army of the Pharaohs formed in 2000 around Vinnie Paz, Chief Kamachi, and Bahamadia, with Philadelphia and New York as their base. They built a collective that grew to include MCs like Apathy, Celph Titled, Reef the Lost Cauze, and Blacastan. Their debut album 'The Torture Papers' established their approach, followed by records like 'Ritual of Battle' and 'The Unholy Terror'.

Their tracks often feature multiple members trading verses with dense wordplay. Songs like '44 Magnum' and 'Headless Ritual' show how the group layers aggressive delivery over hard production. The 2006 altercation with Hell Razah at a concert brought some legal attention, but didn't slow their output.

Over time, the roster has included other voices like Esoteric, Planetary, King Syze, Ill Bill, and Demoz. They've put out seven studio albums and three EPs, maintaining a consistent presence in underground hip-hop without much mainstream crossover. Their work appeals to listeners who prefer raw lyricism over polished production.
