Army Squad

Army Squad came together in the late 1990s in Cidade Tiradentes, a neighborhood in São Paulo. They started making music as a way to talk about what they saw around them, with lyrics that dealt directly with poverty and police violence.

Their 2012 single "Cabeça Vazia" became a major hit in Brazil. The song's blunt lyrics about corruption and hypocrisy connected with listeners, pushing the group beyond their local scene.

The group's members include DJ Will, Moicano, L.C.G, and Arcanjo. They've put out albums like A Verdadeira Face da Favela and 7 Dias na Zona, and have worked with other Brazilian artists including Racionais MC's and Emicida.
