Arsenal was a Nigerian group that put out music in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Their sound mixed hip-hop with Afrobeat and traditional Yoruba elements, and they were known for having a socially conscious edge. Their debut album 'Mr. Lecturer' came out in 2007, followed by records like 'Jaga Jaga' in 2008 and 'Energy' in 2010.
Lead vocalist Eedris Abdulkareem wrote lyrics that often criticized political and social issues, which sometimes caused friction with authorities. The group's membership included Terry G on production and rapping, Baba Dee on saxophone, and Freaky Table as DJ. Their song 'Egun' became particularly well-known.
They released a collaborative album called 'Tomorrow' with Fatai Rolling Dollar in 2011. Other tracks in their catalog include 'Melvin', 'A Volta', and 'Amor de Tres'.
