His 1976 song 'Flor do Céu' became a kind of standard, its lyrics about a love that feels out of reach. Another track, 'Não Olha Pro Lado Que Quem Passa É MC,' shows his ear for rhythm and phrasing. He kept recording through the 1980s and into the 1990s with albums like 'Coração Brasileiro' and 'Canções de Amor e Paz.'
Castro worked with musicians like guitarist Chico Batera and bassist Nilton Ferreira. He didn't make a big show of it, but the concern was there in the songs.
