A California deathcore band that formed in 2002 and returned from hiatus with new members in 2015.
If you want to hear what they were about in their early days, put on 'In Dying Days'. For something from their later work, try 'King Of Thieves'.
Their 2006 album 'Allegiance' hit number 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, which was a solid showing for a young metal band at the time. Songs like 'In Dying Days' and 'The Brighter Side Of Suffering' became early deathcore staples, blending breakdowns with melodic leads in a way that felt both punishing and precise. They helped define a particular Riverside sound that was heavier than most metalcore but more structured than pure death metal.
They started in 2002 and put out 'Instinct' in 2004, then 'Allegiance' in 2006. After going on hiatus in 2010, they came back in 2015 with a different lineup and released 'Instinct Redefined' in 2016. The current members include vocalist Chris Blair and guitarists Dan Sugarman and Ben Koller.
