As Hope Dies formed in 2005 and released their debut album 'A Life Dead To Love' that same year. The band included vocalist Phil Sgrosso, guitarists Cameron Robertson and Peter Mattox, bassist Ryan Scott, and drummer Keaton Pierce. They put out three more albums over the next seven years: 'The Attack' in 2007, 'Decimation' in 2009, and 'Impending Annihilation' in 2012.
Their music drew some criticism for lyrical content, but they continued touring and playing shows with bands like Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying. Songs like 'His Beloved Maker' and 'Led Astray' appeared on their albums alongside tracks such as 'Feeding The Broken Words Of Hope In V' and 'In The Presense Of That Evening'.
They maintained a steady output through lineup changes and other challenges, keeping to their particular style of heavy music. The band's catalog includes songs like 'Legions Bow To A Faceless God' and 'My Words To You' that followed their established approach.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
