Their music mixed African rhythms with Brazilian funk and rock, drawing from various influences including African traditions and punk. Songs like "Segredo das Folhas" and "Jenipapo" carried social and political messages that sometimes sparked debate. Luiz Melodia died in 2017 at age 66.
