Archive material and source history
Ascendente Escorpião formed in Florianópolis in 2003 with Leandro Rocha on vocals, Fernando Cardoso and Marcelo Gross on guitars, Bruno Barros on bass, and Adriano Grützmann on drums. They played energetic live shows that mixed punk, hardcore, and metal.
Their single "Olhos" got attention in 2005, and they released their debut album "Astronautas de Automóvel" that same year. Other songs like "Ilusão, o Tempo Apagou" and "Subordinados" also became part of their set.
They faced some censorship and legal trouble over their lyrics and performances, which were seen as provocative by conservative critics at the time. The band kept playing through it.
Later albums included "O Mundo Vai Acabar" in 2007, "A Morte e o Garoto" in 2010, "Turma do Fundão" in 2013, and "Coração Satânico" in 2017.
