Astrix

Astrix is an Israeli trance duo formed in 2002 by Avi Shmailov and Asi Inbar. They started making music together that year, working from a shared interest in electronic sounds. Their first album came out in 2005, called "Eye to Eye." They followed it with other albums like "Future of Trance" in 2007 and "Red Alert" in 2010.

Some of their tracks include "Closer To Heaven," "Mescaline," and "Ra'Heya." Their music tends to blend trance melodies with progressive beats, though early on that approach met with some skepticism from parts of the trance scene. They kept at it, and over time built a following among listeners who liked their take on the style.

Avi Shmailov handles much of the production and melody work. The duo's sound leans toward the atmospheric and driving ends of trance, without sticking strictly to genre conventions. They've put out a steady stream of albums and singles since the mid-2000s.
