Astro'C formed in Salvador, Bahia in 1999. The group's sound pulled from samba, axé, and funk, with some pop and electronic touches mixed in. Their lineup included Adriana Calcanhotto on vocals, Lan Lanh on keyboards, Marcio Mello on bass, Nico Rezende on drums, and Lucas Santtana on guitar.
They released their self-titled debut in 2001, followed by the album 'Caça' in 2004. That record's release was complicated by a legal dispute over its title, which the band had originally planned to call 'O Disco'. The situation sparked some discussion about artistic control at the time.
Astro'C put out several more albums, including 'Aurora' in 2007, 'Disco Voador' in 2010, and 'O Tempo e o Vento' in 2014. Their song 'Caça' and the track 'Mais Uma Fuga', which featured Marquin & Bruno Daniel, are among their better-known works.
