Atomic Otro Way was a quartet that formed in the 1990s, with members Silvio "Lazarus" Martin on vocals, Leon "La Puta" Bravo on guitar, Sergio "El Profe" Cordero on bass, and Alejandro "La Rata" Ferrer on drums. Their breakout single "Prende Un Porro" came out in 1995 and became something of an anthem, built around reggae and roots music.
They released several albums including "Raíces" in 1997, "Resistencia" in 2000, "Evolución" in 2004, and "Revolución" in 2010. Over time their sound incorporated more rock, Latin, hip-hop, funk, and electronic elements. They worked with artists like Manu Chao, The Wailers, and Manu Dibango.
The band's lyrics often touched on social issues and advocacy for marijuana legalization, which led to some legal trouble with authorities. They kept recording and performing through those challenges.
