Atrito Urbano

Atrito Urbano came out of São Paulo in the early 1980s, led by singer André Dahmer. They played rock when that scene was still finding its feet in Brazil, and their songs often took on social and political themes. Their debut album was called 'Só Protesto', and they followed it with records like 'Sem Censura' and 'Subúrbio Selvagem'.

Songs like 'Apenas Você' and 'Donos do Mundo' give a sense of their range, from a ballad that got widespread attention to tougher, more pointed tracks. The band included Sergio Imperatori on guitar, Fabio Minchillo on bass, and Walter Munique on drums.

They weren't shy about addressing issues like inequality or environmental problems, which drew both fans and critics. Their music had a raw, direct quality that connected with listeners who were looking for something outside the mainstream.
