Archive material and source history
Audience of One formed around singer-songwriter Curtis Peoples in the 2000s, with early members including bassist Jeremy Shumaker and drummer Matt Johnson. Their debut EP 'Sonar' came out in 2007, followed by guitarist Derick Cordoba joining the lineup. The band's 2009 album '350 Miles' gave them their title track, which became a live staple alongside songs like 'Allow Me To Say' and 'I Don't Wanna Go'.
Peoples has spoken about dealing with anxiety and depression, which affected the band's work at times. In 2010 they were dropped from their record label, forcing them to rebuild independently. They kept releasing albums through the 2010s, including 'Antidote' in 2012 and 'Light Years Away' in 2015.
Their later work includes 2018's 'Echoes', maintaining a catalog that runs from that first EP through five full-length albums. The lineup remained Peoples, Cordoba, Shumaker, and Johnson through these recordings.
