Avion Roe formed in Los Angeles in 1995 with Chandler Owen on vocals and guitar, Bryan Chapin on guitar and vocals, Paul Johnson on bass, and Steve Ness on drums. Their debut album 'The Airplane' came out in 1996, followed by 'The Escape' in 2003. The title track from that second album became one of their better-known songs.
Chapin left the band in 2004, and they put out two more albums, 'Lost City' in 2005 and 'Sympathetic Magic' in 2007. Their catalog includes songs like 'Carving Flowers,' 'Come Find Me,' and 'Hollow Hearts.'
Some listeners heard folk and electronic touches in their sound, but the band's story mostly stayed out of the spotlight after those later records.
