Awaken is a band built around Anya's vocals, Ethan's guitar, Jonas's bass, Mia's keyboards, and Oliver's drums. Their sound tends toward the atmospheric, with songs like 'Darkness Disappears' and 'Silent alibi' showing their preference for mood over straightforward rock.
They released their debut album 'Emergence' in 2016, followed by 'Whispers of the Void' in 2019. Their third album, also titled 'Darkness Disappears', came out in 2022. The title track from that record became their most widely recognized song.
In 2018, the band paused touring after a crowd incident at an outdoor show resulted in injuries. They later resumed their work, which includes tracks with more playful titles like 'Blurping The Blurp' and 'The Tale Of The Magic Thursday' alongside their more serious material.
