Away We Go! formed in New York City in the early 2000s around Dave Eggers on vocals and guitar, Adam Pierce on bass, and Jeff Piotrowski on drums. Their music pulled from folk, punk, and electronic textures, landing somewhere in the atmospheric indie rock zone. Their debut album was called 'So Long, So Long,' followed by 'The Edge of Town' and 'The Greatness of Tomorrow.'

Their most recognizable track is probably 'If She's A Deceiver, Does This Make Us Divine?' from that third album. It's the one people point to, with its drifting vocals and a rhythm that sticks. Other songs like 'Thanks To The South' and 'The City Of Sin With a Twist Of Tulips' show the same ear for mood and a title.

In 2007, they put out an album called 'The Cult of the Damned' that stirred up some public disagreement, partly over its handling of religious ideas. The band's output slowed after that, and the existing catalog, those four albums and a handful of songs, is what they're known for.
