Awes

Awes came together in Mexico City around the early 2000s, a heavy metal band with a lineup that included Daniel Vega on vocals, Miguel Ramos on guitar, Armando Diaz on drums, and Francisco Sanchez on bass. They put out their first album, 'Destruccion Por Ambicion', in 2006, which gave them a title track that stuck around. Other songs like 'Ilusiones' and 'No Podrás' showed up in their setlists too.

Their music got tagged as raw and aggressive by some critics, and the lyrics sometimes stirred up talk about violence. They kept at it through a few lineup shuffles and money troubles, leaning on a core fanbase that liked the intensity. By 2012, they had a few albums out, including 'Los Hijos del Infierno' and 'El Amanecer de la Destruccion', which leaned into darker themes.

Awes didn't really break into the mainstream, but they carved out a space where their heavier sound worked. The band's live shows were known for being loud and direct, without much polish. They left behind a handful of tracks that still get played by people who were into that scene.
