Axel F

Axel F was a Swedish novelty music project created in 2005 by producers Måns Erlandsson and Reinhard 'Hardrock' Struve. It centered on the Crazy Frog character, an animated frog with a high-pitched voice. Their breakthrough came with a cover of Harold Faltermeyer's 'Axel F' theme from Beverly Hills Cop, which became an international hit.

That track, along with songs like 'Crazy Frog' and 'Popcorn,' reached the top of charts in multiple countries. The project faced criticism for its repetitive sound and questions about the character's origins, with some dismissing it as a one-hit wonder.

Beyond the music, the Crazy Frog character spawned merchandise, video games, and a television show. The producers and vocalist Erik Wernquist mostly stayed behind the scenes, with the project's discography remaining limited to a few singles.
