Their early work leaned into progressive rock, and they released their debut album 'Consciência' in 2006. The band's second album, 'Redenção', came out in 2010 and included the track 'Tenho Que Mudar', which found a wider audience in Brazil.
Around 2013, Ayio faced plagiarism accusations from other musicians, which they denied and were later dismissed. They kept making music after that, and their sound began to incorporate electronic, folk, and world music elements alongside their rock foundation.
