Ayira

Ayira formed in 2009 when vocalist Iara Rennó and guitarist Thiago Pethit began working together. Their debut album 'Algo Melhor' came out in 2012, with the title track getting radio play and bringing them some attention.

Their sound shifted over the next few albums. 'Horizonte' in 2014 and 'Corpo Elétrico' in 2018 moved toward more experimental territory, mixing electronics and ambient textures with Brazilian rhythms. Songs like 'Amanheceu' and 'Intolerância' reflect this layered approach.

Lyrically, Ayira often touches on social and political themes, which has sometimes sparked debate. They've written about gender, the environment, and human relationships without smoothing over the rough edges.
