The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation was a British blues-rock band formed in 1967 around drummer Aynsley Dunbar. The original lineup included guitarist John Moorshead, bassist Victor Brox, and singer Laurie Tate. They released their debut album 'Warning' in 1968, which gave them some chart success in the UK.
After some early momentum, the band ran into trouble with their label Deram Records over creative direction. This led to legal disputes and the departure of Tate and Brox. Dunbar brought in new members including vocalist Tony Ashton, guitarist Paul Kossoff, and bassist Andy Fraser to continue recording.
With this revised lineup, they put out two more albums, 'Second Album' in 1969 and 'To Mum from Aynsley & Co' in 1970, before disbanding in 1971. Their song 'Warning' remains the track most people remember from their brief run.
