Aztec Camera formed in East Kilbride, Scotland in 1980 around frontman Roddy Frame. Their debut album 'High Land, Hard Rain' came out in 1983 and established their sound with songs like 'Oblivious' and 'The Boy Wonders.'
They had their biggest hit with 'Somewhere In My Heart' from the 1984 album 'Knife.' That song gave them international reach while keeping Frame's particular style of writing intact. Later albums like 'Love' and 'Stray' showed the band working with more polished arrangements.
Aztec Camera released nine studio albums between 1983 and 2012. Frame's songwriting remained the constant through various lineup changes and label moves over those years.
