Azure Rap came out of Los Angeles with a sound that mixed hip-hop and Latin rhythms. Their 2017 single "Tomame" got attention and became something of an anthem for their early listeners. The group had three members: MC Reign on vocals, DJ Empress on turntables, and Producer Enigma handling the beats and production.
They followed up with an album called "Embrujo" in 2018 and another called "Renacer" in 2020. Another track, "Tu Cancion," also appears among their most popular songs. Their lyrics sometimes addressed social issues, which drew some criticism along with their success.
They didn't really fit neatly into one genre, which made them stand out in the Los Angeles scene at the time.
