That song, along with others like "Meu Jeito," drew criticism from conservative circles and faced some censorship, which only seemed to solidify their standing with younger listeners in Brazil's emerging hip-hop scene. They kept recording through the 1990s and 2000s, putting out albums like "Canta a Vida" and "Força do Hip-Hop."
In 2020, Carlos "Tio Fresh" Oliveira died. The group has continued performing since then.
