Archive material and source history
B44 formed in Miami in 1999 with David Prada on lead vocals, Luis Bravo on guitar, Jean Rodríguez on bass, Ismael García on drums, and James Martínez on keyboards. Their debut single "Ball & Chain" became a hit, and they went on to release six studio albums between 2003 and 2016, including their self-titled debut in 2003 and later records like "Algo Personal" and "Renacer." Their sound mixed Latin pop with salsa and R&B.
Ismael García left the band in 2012 and was replaced by drummer J.C. Cruz. B44 announced an indefinite hiatus in 2016, but the original members reunited for some concerts in 2021. Beyond "Ball & Chain," their catalog includes songs like "Get Down," "Everyday," and "How Did We End Up Here?"
