They had trouble finding a label at first, but things turned around in 1984 with the single "(never Listen To A) Bouzouki Player." Burnett wrote it, and the song's melody caught on, though some listeners found the lyrics provocative.

They put out a few albums in the 1980s, starting with "Sweet Deceit" in 1983, followed by "When the Sun Goes Down" in 1985 and "Against the Odds" in 1987. Their sound mixed pop with folk and world music touches, and they kept writing songs that stirred things up.

Other tracks from that period include "Ooh lala I'm falling," "Together in love again," and "I'm a rocking machine." The band went quiet for a while after the '80s, but they played some shows again in 2017.
