Babian

Babian formed in 2003 in Recife, Brazil, with Fábio Babian on vocals and guitar, Rodrigo Lemos on drums, and Guilherme Gê on bass. Their debut album 'Dias de Luta' came out not long after, mixing melodic rock with the kind of introspective lyrics that would become a feature of their work.

In 2006, the single 'Como Uma Canção' became a radio hit in Brazil. It's a good example of what they were doing at the time, a haunting melody paired with straightforward, earnest writing. Their second album, 'Limite,' followed and showed the band settling into a more mature sound.

Around 2010, drummer Rodrigo Lemos left the band and was replaced by Bruno Travassos. Fábio Babian has been known to speak openly about social and political topics, which has occasionally drawn attention away from the music itself.
