Baby Gang formed in Milan in 2018, started by Nicholas Fantini, Zaccaria Mouhib, and Emilio Pennacchio. They put out early EPs like 'EP 1' in 2019 and 'EP 2' the following year. Their track 'Marocchino' from 2020 caught on, speaking to some of the immigrant experience in Italy.
Their music drew attention for its direct style and sometimes drew criticism for its content. In 2020, Mouhib was arrested on a marijuana possession charge, which stirred some public discussion. The group kept releasing music, including the album 'Baby Gang' in 2021 and songs like 'Casablanca' with Morad and '3 Occhi' featuring Il Ghost.
They've stayed active, putting out 'EP 3' in 2022. Their sound connects with a particular slice of the Italian rap audience, one that recognizes the perspectives in their lyrics.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
