Baby Keem

Baby Keem is Hykeem Jamaal Carter Jr., born in October 2000 and from Carson, California. He's a rapper and producer who started gaining attention around 2019 with his EP 'Melodic Blue.' His cousin is Kendrick Lamar, which gets mentioned a lot, but Keem's own sound has its own shape.

In 2021, he worked with Lamar on 'family ties,' a track that got a lot of play and put Keem in front of more listeners. Other songs like 'Durag Activity' with Travis Scott and 'killstreaks' with Don Toliver and PinkPantheress show he's comfortable collaborating while keeping his own lane. He's put out a few projects, including 'The Melodic Blue Deluxe' in 2021 and 'Gemini' in 2023.

Some of his music, like 'pink panties' and 'south africa,' has a loose, off-kilter feel that doesn't always follow conventional patterns.
