Archive material and source history

Babylon formed in 1988 after the band D'ERLANGER ended. The original lineup included vocalist Tetsuya, guitarist Hideki, bassist Ikuo, and drummer Toshiro. They put out their self-titled debut album in 1990, which got some attention for mixing hard rock with more atmospheric melodies.

Their 1991 album 'For the Longest Time' gave them their most recognizable song, the title track. Hideki left the band in 1993, and they brought in guitarist Go for a few years. Their 1995 album 'Dogma' had darker themes that some listeners found provocative.

They kept recording through the late '90s with albums like 'Scarecrow' and 'Babel', with Tsutomu joining on guitar toward the end. The band's activity trailed off after 2000.
