Baccara

Baccara was a disco duo formed in 1977 by Mayte Mateos from Spain and Maria Mendiola from Germany. Their debut single "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" became a massive hit, reaching number one in multiple countries during the late 1970s. The song's simple, catchy rhythm and the duo's coordinated dance moves made it an international disco staple.

They followed with albums like "Light My Fire" and "Bad Boys," and songs such as "Darling" and "Parlez-Vous Francais?" kept them on European charts through the early 1980s. Their stage shows featured matching outfits and synchronized choreography that became part of their recognizable style.

The duo split in 1983, with both members pursuing separate careers in television and theater. "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" has endured as a disco classic, still played at parties and referenced in pop culture decades later.
