Baccardi Pit

Baccardi Pit formed in France in 2001 with rappers Karim "Ben-J" Benzansi, Nasser "Niro" Al-Fayed, and Yazid "Zoxea" Ikhlef. Their debut album "Les Chroniques de Baccardi Pit" came out in 2002, and the track "24 H À Vivre" became a hit that defined their early sound.

Their lyrics often dealt with street life and urban struggles, which sometimes brought them into conflict with authorities. In 2007, a police union sued them over alleged incitement, though the case was eventually dismissed.

They kept releasing albums through the 2000s and into the 2010s, including "La Rage du Peuple" in 2005 and "Sixième Continent" in 2012. Songs like "Enfants du ghetto" and "Journée de dealer" continued their focus on neighborhood stories and social commentary.

The group's lineup expanded to include producers DJ Kore and DJ Bellek alongside the original rappers. Their music drew from American hip-hop influences but stayed grounded in French urban realities.
