Bad Flowers formed in 2015 around Josh Katz, who writes most of their material. Their debut EP 'Devil's Daughter' came out that same year, followed by a self-titled album in 2016. The song 'Cry Angel' from that period became one of their better-known tracks.
Katz's lyrics often draw from personal experience, giving songs like 'Fate (the Only One)' and 'Wait For a Miracle' a direct, unvarnished feel. The band's sound leans on straightforward rock arrangements with blues touches, avoiding much studio polish.
They put out another album called 'American Youth' in 2019 and an EP titled 'Forgive Me' in 2020. The lineup has included guitarist Alex Howard and bassist Nick Hayes since the beginning, with Matt Price on drums.
