A short-lived project remembered for a moody Metallica cover and anonymous pseudonyms.
If you're going to listen to one thing, make it their version of 'Sad But True.' After that, try 'Fantasy' or 'Rowena' to hear what else they were doing on that EP.
They only released one EP called 'The Shadow' in 2003, but their slowed-down take on Metallica's 'Sad But True' developed a cult following in alternative circles. Songs like 'Fantasy' and 'Angel Of Mine' filled out the tracklist, but it was that cover that stuck with people. The whole thing had a mysterious, anonymous quality, members used names like The Shadow and The Phantom, that made their brief run feel like a strange footnote.
Bad Habit formed, put out 'The Shadow' EP in 2003, and dissolved not long after. Their recorded output was minimal, just that one release with songs like 'Suddenly' and 'Break The Silence' alongside the Metallica cover. The project faded out quickly, leaving behind speculation about who was behind the pseudonyms.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
